Ok, so it is not my first blog post as I have a medium.com account with a few posts on there, but this is definitely the first post on my personal website.
Ok ok, so (as the subtitle says) the website currently doesn’t look very pretty or have a lot of content. But just this, took a lot of work you know! At the moment the blog page looks horrendous, you can’t even see the menu in the header.
I have tried a few times in the past to build a website but have always stopped after the first few hurdles.
I used example posts from zenhabit.com, which was a recommendation from one of the many YouTube videos I have watched.
I also plan to detail the making of this website in the projects section of the website with all the resources that I used to build this website.
Recently, I finished working a contract and thought “I have always wanted to start a blog, maybe this is my chance?…”. So, I decided to dive in and honestly, it is never as simple as YouTube makes it seem I have been building this website for weeks, but it looks like I have barely done anything. The process seemed to have so much friction for me that it was ridiculous.
You can have some many ideas and plans but when you are trying to execute on them, you are staring into the abyss of the of the blank screen and frantically searching for all your ideas that seemed so clear before you made a move but now, it’s like searching for something through an ever-thickening fog. You feel like you can see the outline of what you are looking for but can never get close enough to get a clear image.
So, what do I want to talk about?…
First, I want to state here… I have no idea what I am doing… I am literally stumbling and falling through all of this and figuring out along the way, hoping I don’t get too injured in the process, but I feel it’s now or never.
Honestly, I have a million interests and I am hoping this is a place where I can just log and disseminate things I have learnt, and maybe… just maybe some people may read my learnings (which will most likely come in the way of failing miserably) and hope that they have some takeaways and maybe some entertainment.
I think to begin with it is going to a mishmash of odd interests, but I am hoping I can find my niche to work in and really take it to the next level… Not to mention that I am terrible at writing, but it is something I have always wanted to do. I know, I know… it is the age of the YouTuber, but writing was always my aspiration and… I am just not there yet.
Also, I think I may import my medium.com posts here two that will give me a bit of content to work with.
To begin with… I have to sort out the design of this website!
